PrevCheck is a quick, easy, and affordable health check with a focus on preventive healthcare. It includes an online questionnaire and a visit to the pharmacy.
The questionnaire in your user account at prevcheck.ch is non-binding and contains around 40 multiple-choice questions that can be answered from the comfort of your own home. Your answers in this questionnaire provide important insights into your lifestyle, your risk of disease, and basic medical data such as age and gender. Your entries will not be shared with anyone, including the pharmacy; they are used exclusively to provide you with customized scores and recommendations.

If you decide to take the PrevCheck after completing the questionnaire, you can pay for it and receive a booking code that you can use to have your measurements taken and discuss your results at the pharmacy.
Some pharmacies require an appointment, while others can be visited spontaneously. You do not necessarily have to be fasting for the appointment, but we recommend it. The reason for this is that eating beforehand can increase your triglyceride level. If the level is significantly elevated, it may be advisable to take another measurement after fasting.
At the beginning of your visit to the pharmacy, blood will be taken from your fingertip and analyzed using laboratory equipment in the pharmacy. These analyses, which take approximately 5-12 minutes depending on the analyzer, provide values for long-term blood sugar (HbA1c) and your lipid profile (triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and total cholesterol). In the meantime, your blood pressure will be measured (possibly several times) and your weight will be determined.
Once all the values are available, your personal health report will be generated based on your questionnaire responses and the measurements. The report consists of four parts:
- Overall overview: This gives you scores for your diet, exercise and sports, family history, and addictive behavior.
- Laboratory results: This lists the results of the measurements and their significance.
- Risk scores for cardiovascular health and your risk of developing diabetes.
- Lifestyle measures are recommendations for lifestyle changes derived from all your entries.
- Preventive measures highlight which preventive measures you should consider depending on your predisposition and lifestyle. This part is based on the recommendations of EviPrev.
